The Buying Process
It may seem like real estate is just like any other purchase. This is not the case due to the significant financial commitment involved. There are real estate purchase contracts (REPC) to be filled out, terms to be set, negotiations based on possession date, financing costs, etc... If you are not careful, you will mismanage the buying process and cause legal implications or financial obligations that you perhaps didn't intend to sign up for. Setting Your Criteria & Budget
Before working with an agent, you should get pre-approved for financing the purchase of real estate. I recommend reaching out to a few different banks about your financing options. In order to make a strong offer, you should have a pre-approval letter from your financing institution. Once you have that taken care of, identify specific financing limitations and criteria to fit your requirements.

Purchasing a home is a big decision, you want to make sure that you choose the right people to assist you.
The seller has already contracted with a real estate brokerage (and agent) to list and sell their home. They have already agreed upon a set commission to be paid to the listing brokerage. When buyers come to purchase the property with a buyers agent to represent their interest, that buyers agent does not cost the buyer anything. The seller pays the buyers agent commission.
